Jareb and Amy have been involved in Bible translation and church-planting for two decades in eastern Indonesia, contributing to churches having been planted among two remote Papuan people groups, making the Scriptures and Bible lessons accessible to them in their languages.
They have managed to continue with the Indonesian Scripture teaching and translation work from afar, as well as helping start a business-as-mission effort to support the tribal believers. They are in a new stage of ministry from their home base in Durham, North Carolina. They will diversify their time and energy into training for and providing missionary care to other missionaries serving overseas, as well as contributing to international student ministry on nearby campuses. They also will continue the ongoing discipleship of national believers with whom they are connected overseas, making periodic visits as they are able.. Jareb has created nine volumes of Indonesian teaching manuals on books of the Bible, as well as thematic overviews of the Bible. These are currently being used to teach indigenous believers in Papua, Indonesia. Amy has contributed by creating readers out of these lessons, which can be used by those who are newly literate.
They would love to share with you their heart for helping missionaries and internationals adjust to living in new countries, their experience in bringing the gospel to cross-cultural contexts, and their desire to promote the things which are close to God’s heart.
We believe in God, the Father, Creator of all things, and His Son Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, and we, His people are empowered by His Holy Spirit. The Bible is God's written Word, given to all people to grow in knowledge of God's grace and salvation by faith alone.
We are diversifying our time into a tri-fold focus of discipleship of Indonesian believers through Bible curriculum, providing missionary care to both expat and national Gospel workers in unreached people group contexts, and ministry to international college students. Through all these efforts, the nations are reached for Christ and His Name is glorified!
